About

Space Systems Technology (SST) will launch this November, as the 4th title from High Power Media Ltd, a specialist publisher producing engineering focused, niche, ‘phygital’ – print & digital, hybrid magazines. Dating back to our inception in 2003 we’ve published 164 issues of Race Engine Technology dedicated to professional race engineers; 68 issues of Uncrewed Systems Technology for uncrewed & autonomous engineers; and 38 issues of E-Mobility Engineering, written for e-mobility engineers.

What do we cover?

We report independently on the engineering at the heart of space systems providing unbiased commentary on full vehicles, hardware components, software programming, and other innovations and via interviews with leading engineers.

Launchpad

The news section is focused on technological development. Business and politics are only covered in so far as they impact directly on engineering solutions.

From the outset the magazine has established itself as a publication that deals in hard science.

An increasingly wide variety of space platforms have created requirements for all manner of propulsion systems, to the extent that currently there is far from consensus as to the most appropriate technical solution.

A host of different approaches are being exploited, from chemical based options as the most mature technology, to electric as those with the highest efficiency, propellant-less as an emerging technology, and the potential for nuclear where major leaps have recently been made. Each issue’s propulsion dossier explores in depth one of the diverse innovative solutions at the forefront of today’s space revolution.

Who are High Power Media?

Established in 2006, High Power Media was formed to publish the highly technical Race Engine Technology magazine, a publication dedicated to the intricacies of high performance powertrain engineering.

Since then we have also published 8 Race Technology Reports, namely F1 Race Technology, 24 Hour Race Technology, Cup Race Technology, Drag Race Technology, Rally Race Technology, Race Restoration Technology, Alternative Race Technology and Motorcycle Race Technology magazines. Each one exploring the engineering of the whole vehicle within the applicable racing series.

In 2014 we launched Uncrewed Systems Technology magazine for the fast-evolving world of uncrewed vehicles and systems. Published 6-times-a-year, Uncrewed Systems Technology magazine looks at the engineering behind the market-leading uncrewed systems being developed around the globe.

Then in 2018 we launched our latest magazine, this time for the world of electric mobility.  Also published 6-times-a-year, E-Mobility Engineering looks at the cutting-edge engineering behind electric and hybrid vehicles covering everything from automotive to heavy-duty off-highway, and from marine to aerospace applications, all over the world.

Editorial Policy

At the core of our authoritative publications are in depth research insights that probe significant contemporary projects, with informed analysis that is backed by professor peer review and rigorous critique prior to publication. There is also comprehensive coverage of all aspects of the technology and its innovations, as well as interviews with those central to its on-going evolution. The writing is clear and concise, using plain English in the style of New Scientist. All content in print and online is designed to be readily accessible to all – you don’t need an engineering degree to understand it!
